Meet Dalton Young · Founder

An entrepreneur.
A neighbor.
Someone in your corner.

Hey, I'm Dalton. I've built, operated, and sold businesses, led teams, and made decisions that didn't come with a clear answer. I know how rewarding ownership can be. And how much it can ask of you.

Experience is useful.
Perspective is personal.

My background spans entrepreneurship, executive leadership, operations, technology, cybersecurity, healthcare, and government-related work. I've supported other owners and organizations through challenges, and I've had to work through plenty of my own.

But a list of industries doesn't tell you much about what it's like to sit down with someone. What matters is whether they listen well, ask good questions, and understand the responsibility that comes with being the owner.

I don't have everything figured out. I'm not here to hand you a formula for extraordinary success. I'm another entrepreneur who understands that building something worthwhile can be rewarding, stressful, exciting, and sometimes lonely.

Why this matters to me

A good business should make room for a good life.

I value relationships, family, freedom, integrity, and meaningful work. Business success matters, but I don't believe it should consume everything else.

The people in your corner can change how you experience ownership. A thoughtful question. An honest conversation. Someone who remembers what you're working toward and helps you look beyond the issue right in front of you.

Those relationships take time. That's why I'd rather work personally with a small number of owners than build a large consulting operation. I want to know the person, not just the company.

The life beyond the business matters, too.

“Sometimes a good conversation is exactly what you need.”

A local connection, on purpose.

I live and work around Horizon West. I started Horizon West Founders because I want to build meaningful, long-term relationships with other entrepreneurs who call this area home.

Your work might take you anywhere. Mine has crossed different businesses and responsibilities, too. But getting to know someone nearby makes the relationship feel a little more human.

Maybe we meet for coffee. Maybe we talk by phone. Either way, the starting point is simple: getting acquainted and seeing whether we'd be good people to have in each other's corner.

What I believe

Success should give you a life, not take it from you.

Faith gives me direction. Family gives me purpose.

My faith is part of how I make sense of responsibility and the life I want to lead. Family reminds me why any of this matters. Providing for the people I love and being present with them aren't the same thing. I want to do both. You don't need to share my faith or live exactly as I do for us to have a meaningful professional relationship.

Freedom is more than a number.

More revenue isn't the whole picture if the business needs every hour you have. I care about the freedom to be present, to make choices, and to enjoy what you've worked for. That doesn't mean ambition is wrong. It means being honest about what your ambition is serving.

Ownership matters more than perfection.

I don't expect perfection. I value effort, ownership, and follow-through. Accountability means acknowledging what's yours to change, doing what you said you would do, and being willing to adjust when something isn't working. Persistence and consistency matter more to me than a polished story.

Simplicity should be intentional.

I don't believe growth is automatically progress, or that cutting back is automatically wise. Simplifying means looking carefully at what creates value and what creates unnecessary weight. It isn't indiscriminate downsizing. Decisions still need to make sense for your customers, your team, and the business.

Experience should make you more human.

I've known what it feels like to be overworked, stressed, and unsure how to give my family the life I wanted. Building businesses taught me a lot, but achievement didn't answer every question. I bring that perspective to the conversation without pretending my path is a formula for yours.

I advise. You decide. You execute.

I'll listen, ask direct questions, and offer an honest view, including when it differs from yours. But this is your company and your life. You remain responsible for decisions, your team, and daily execution. A useful relationship strengthens your judgment; it doesn't replace it.
